Is it just me?

I was driving into work this morning and ended up behind someone who had one of those temporary paper license plates that had almost come loose. Once we made it onto the highway I got into the next lane parallel so I could alert them but the driver seemed determined not to look at me. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll avoid eye contact on the highway any given day, but usually it’s because I’ve had to change lanes and you just never know when someone might be upset about that. But we hadn’t had any negative interaction and still this woman was determined not to look my way. I could only think, if it was me, I’d want somone to point to my car’s rear end to tell me I’m about to lose a plate. But if no one looks at anyone, how can anyone help?
